Major
Prizes and Scholarships
All competitors in the competition are eligible to receive one of the following scholarships for a performance of an eligible item throughout the competition. The recipient of each scholarship will be announced at the conclusion of the VCE final, so it is recommended that all competitors attend the final should they receive a scholarship.
The scholarships are to be awarded at the discretion of the adjudicator. If there has not been a suitable performance, the adjudicator reserves the right to withhold one or more scholarship awards.

The CVSC VCE Award
Awarded to the competitor who wins Section 101.
Prize: $300 cash, Certificate, and trophy.
Classical Voice Singing Competition Novice Aria Award
Awarded to the competitor who wins section 102:
Year 9-12 Novice Aria Award
Prize: $250 Cash and Certificate.
SongMakers Australia Scholarship
Awarded to a competitor of the adjudicators choice from the competition who shows great promise in the performance of a German lied.
Prize: Certificate and 60 minute coaching with pianist and coach,
Andrea Katz.
Classical Voice Singing Competition French Scholarship
Awarded to a competitor of the adjudicators choice from the competition who shows great promise in the performance of a piece in French.
Prize: Certificate and 60 minute coaching with
Siobhán Stagg.
Classical Voice Singing Competition
Italian Scholarship
Awarded to a competitor of the adjudicators choice from the competition who shows great promise in the performance of a piece in Italian.
Prize: Certificate and 60 minute coaching with Conductor,
Patrick Burns.
Classical Voice Singing Competition Musical Theatre Scholarship
Awarded to a competitor of the adjudicators choice from the competition for excellence in the performance of a song from a musical or operetta.
Prize: Certificate and 60 minute coaching with Musical Director and Pianist, Geoffrey Castles.
The Max Riebl Early Music Memorial Award
Sponsored by Julie Houghton & Friends
Awarded to a competitor of the adjudicators choice from the competition for excellence in the performance of a pre-classical work.
Prize: $50 Cash, Certificate, and a memorial booklet written by Julie Houghton on the life of Australian Countertenor, Max Riebl.
